At Green Bee Construction, we take pride in delivering high-quality, durable, and code-compliant construction. To provide homeowners with peace of mind, we offer an industry-leading extended structural and workmanship warranty for up to five (5) years on approved materials and workmanship.

 

This warranty fully complies with California law, including the California Business and Professions Code § 7159, which governs residential construction warranties.


Standard One-Year Workmanship Warranty

 

As required by California law (Cal. Civ. Code § 900 et seq.), Green Bee Construction provides a one (1) year warranty covering defects in materials and labor. If any covered defects arise due to faulty workmanship within the first year, Green Bee Construction will repair them at no cost to the homeowner.

 

Additionally, California law provides implied warranties regarding habitability and proper construction under Cal. Civ. Code § 896.

 

Extended 5-Year Structural & Workmanship Warranty

 

To go beyond industry standards, we offer an extended five (5) year warranty on approved structural components and workmanship under the following conditions:


  • Annual Maintenance & Inspection Requirement. To maintain the extended warranty, the homeowner must schedule an annual inspection with Green Bee Construction.


  • Annual inspections help identify necessary adjustments and maintenance to protect the longevity of the home. The cost of the inspection and maintenance is the homeowner’s responsibility.

  • Under California law, homeowners are responsible for maintaining their property. Failure to maintain structural elements as recommended may void warranty coverage.

 

What’s Covered Under the Extended Warranty?

 

✅ Structural Elements – Foundation, framing, roofing, and load-bearing components.

✅ Windows & Doors – Installation defects affecting operation or weatherproofing.

✅ Installed Flooring – Ensuring structural integrity and proper installation.

 

Note: This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear and requires that only approved materials be used for coverage.

 

Exclusions from Coverage

 

California law allows contractors to define reasonable exclusions from extended warranty coverage. The following are not covered:

 

❌ Wear and tear, neglect, or improper maintenance – Failure to maintain caulking, weatherproofing, or recommended homeowner maintenance.

❌ Damage from Acts of God – Earthquakes, floods, fires, extreme weather (Cal. Civ. Code § 944).

❌ Owner modifications or unauthorized third-party repairs – Any work performed outside of Green Bee Construction’s oversight voids the warranty.

❌ Paint, caulking, and aesthetic finishes – Normal fading, cracking, or discoloration due to age and exposure.

❌ Appliances and factory-manufactured products – These items are covered under manufacturer warranties, which are transferred to the homeowner.

 

Under Cal. Civ. Code § 896, specific warranty limitations must be clearly disclosed, and homeowners are responsible for routine maintenance and proper upkeep.

 

Manufacturer Warranties & Third-Party Claims

 

  • All manufacturer warranties (such as for roofing materials, windows, and appliances) will be transferred to the homeowner.
  • Any claims related to manufacturer defects must be handled directly with the manufacturer.
  • Green Bee Construction is not responsible for defects in materials that are covered under third-party warranties.
